Services

Transmute Therapy, PLLC is primarily a fee for service practice, and as such, is not in network with all commercial insurance carriers. However, Transmute Therapy is in network with the following Washington State insurances:

  • United Health Care (UHC)

  • Regence

  • BCBS/Premera

  • Lifewise

If interested in using one of these insurance carriers, please call your insurance company to ensure coverage and benefits. Clients will be financially responsible for their care at the time of service.  If you are intending to utilize out-of-network benefits through your insurance company, I am happy to supply you with a monthly statement called a ‘superbill’, which you can submit to your insurance provider for potential reimbursement.  If you have questions on the reimbursement process, please consult your insurance carrier.

FAQs about rates + services

Payment is due at time of service. I accept cash, check, credits cards, FSA (Flex spending accounts) HSA (health saving accounts) and Venmo. Transmute Therapy requires a credit card to be kept securely on file in case of no-show and late-cancel fees. Most clients elect to charge that credit card so payment isn’t an issue during session.

I recognize that the cost of therapy can be prohibitive for many individuals.  I have a number of sliding scale/reduced fee spots available for those with demonstrated financial need. Priority is given to queer, BIPOC, and gender-expansive clients. If you are experiencing financial barriers to accessing my services, please reach out to discuss available options.

What is Your Cancellation Policy?

Life happens, and there is no way to control that. If there is no communication prior to your missed session it is considered a no show. Transmute Therapy maintains a strict 24-hour cancellation policy.  Our policy is to bill all sessions that the client fails to show for when 24-hour notice has not been given.  The following fees will be charged for a missed or late cancel appointment:

    No-Show $100 per missed session
    Late-Cancel $100 per missed session

Recurrent missed appointments will harm the therapeutic relationship as well as progress being made toward your goals. Should attendance become a regular issue, we will discuss the best path moving forward. If you arrive more than 15 minutes late for a scheduled appointment, the appointment will be considered a ‘no-show’ and will need to be rescheduled.

Questions to Consider Asking your Insurance Provider:

Here are some recommend questions to ask your insurance provider to help determine your benefits:

  • *Does my health insurance plan include mental health benefits?

  • *Do I have a deductible? If so, what is it and have I met it yet?

  • *Do I have a co-pay or co-insurance? If so, what is it?

  • *Does my plan limit how many sessions per calendar year for therapy appointments? If so, what is the limit?

  • *Do I need written approval from my primary care physician in order for services to be covered?
